Winding Service – Extra Cone 

Working with fine yarns often surprises knitters. A very thin yarn may look intimidating at first, but in reality it opens the door to much more control and versatility — especially when the fibre itself is exceptional.

At Woolunatics we offer high-grade combed yarns such as cashmere and merino. These fibres are spun fine on purpose: it keeps them soft, strong and beautifully even. Instead of being limited to one thickness, you can simply knit several strands together and create the exact gauge your project needs.

Many experienced knitters prefer this method. Knitting with multiple plies of fine yarn gives a fabric that is more balanced, smoother and often more durable than a single thick strand.

To make this easier, we offer a cone-splitting service.

If you plan to knit with several strands held together, we can wind your yarn onto multiple cones so the strands feed evenly while you knit — no tangling, no improvising with balls on the table.

Example
If you purchase 600 g of merino Nm 2/30 and plan to knit with four strands together, we can prepare four cones of 150 g each. Since the yarn normally comes on one cone, you would add three extra cones to your order.

How to request it

At checkout, simply mention:

• the SKU of the yarn
• the total number of cones you would like

Each additional cone requires a separate charge, as the yarn needs to be rewound. One cone is already included, so please add one fewer cone than the total you need.

It’s a simple service, but it saves time and makes multi-ply knitting much more comfortable — so you can focus on the part that really matters: the knitting itself. 🧶
