The Great Cone Migration — Help Us Lighten the Load!

Six years ago, Woolunatics began as the smallest spark of an idea — a tiny passion project born out of a deep love for knitting, beautiful fibres, and the joy of creating something with our hands. In the beginning, it was truly modest: a few cones of yarn stacked in our living room and a dream that maybe, just maybe, other yarn lovers would appreciate the materials we were so obsessed with. We didn’t have a warehouse, we didn’t have a studio, and we certainly didn’t imagine we’d one day need one. But we did have enthusiasm, curiosity, and you — the warm, supportive community that embraced us from day one.

And then… things grew…and grew. Our yarn collection grew. Our ideas grew. Our community grew faster than we could ever have predicted. Cones slowly took over the house — first one room, then another, then every corner and hallway. If there was a free space, yarn eventually claimed it. Woolunatics became a home-wide installation of wool, colour, texture, and creativity.

Now, it’s finally time for the next chapter — one we’ve dreamt about for years.

We’re thrilled to announce that we’re moving into Woolunatics Studio, our first ever dedicated space. It won’t be a classic retail shop, but a combined warehouse, creative studio, workshop area, photography corner, and yarn-related event hub. It will also be the place for live product confrontation — where you can finally see, touch, compare, and experience different yarns side by side in real life. A place where we can host cosy knitting gatherings, teach techniques, share knowledge, and welcome you for special yarn moments. Most importantly, it’s a place where our cones can live in a calm, organised environment — not in the kitchen.

Woolunatics has always been built on the idea of giving beautiful materials a second life. Many of our yarns are upcycled, leftover or discontinued stock from high-end mills — fibres that would otherwise be wasted, despite being perfect in quality. Moving into the new studio means even more opportunities to rescue these incredible materials and bring them to you. But it also means moving a truly enormous amount of yarn from one place to another.

To make the transition a little lighter (for our backs and for the movers!), we’re offering automatic moving-week discounts — no coupons, no codes, just simple price drops applied directly in your cart.

Here’s how it works:

• Up to 5 kg in your cart → 10% discount
• Over 5 kg or cart total over €300 → 15% discount
• Over 10 kg → 20% discount

Discounts apply to yarn only.

Every cone you take home is one less we need to lift, wrap, tape, stack, haul to the van, unload at the new space, and reorganise on the other end. Each order helps us start the new studio chapter with lighter shelves, clearer space, and much easier moving days.

And since many of these yarns are upcycled or limited-batch stock, this is also a perfect moment to grab something special before it disappears forever. Once certain colours or fibres are gone, they truly won’t return.

Another reason this moment is so exciting: we’re preparing to see many of you at Breidagen, where we’ll bring inspiration, samples, and some favourite yarns to touch and explore in person. The new studio move, the special sale, and the upcoming event all feel like part of the same big evolution — Woolunatics growing into the next stage.
